My lofty goal

New year, new me - I set myself a goal. The goal is to write and publish one blog a week. It's like exercising, which is a worthy goal but sometimes,  (like all the times...) it's just hard to do.  A couple of readers have steered my attention to the fact that my content is pretty dark and that people don't always want to read the dark stuff. Maybe I could lighten it up a little. Well, yep, yep - point well taken. I'll get right on that. ........................ ......................... Bernie Taupin once wrote "It's hard to write a song with bitter fingers, So much to prove, so few to tell you why." But he also wrote, "Don't let the sun go down on me." I like that song, it's one of my favorite karaoke songs to sing.  But it's not how I feel. In fact, go ahead and let the sun go down on me. Let it go down and not show itself for a coupla days.  You know why I say that?  Because I love the rain. One of my earliest memories is when I ...

The two things you'll never do....

Years ago, when I still had the luxury of being freely pensive,  I stumbled upon this nugget of wisdom. As human beings, we enjoy the idea that there is nothing that we cannot achieve. We are told that the possibilities are limitless. We've walked on the moon. We've cloned mice, sheep, pigs, cows, and dogs. We've successfully saved lives by transplanting every human organ except for the brain, and I suspect that it won't be long on that last one. I learned that this man had been performing surgery on embryos in the womb! My mind was successfully blown. Miracles were happening! Was there nothing that man couldn't do? Fair question. And this is the ans...

Where is Gloria?

I heard that Madonna's been taking some flack, lately, for not accepting her senior status. Senior- as in old, not senior- as in accomplished. And well, yes. There's actually nothing hot about Madonna. There's actually nothing hot about Elton John, (for the record, I am a die hard fan of the old geezer) and there for sure in the hell was nothing hot about Betty White, but the millennials and zoomers think that she was the fire. They're also head over heals for Dolly Parton, which is bizarre to me because her most famous crooning, was her begging another woman to not steal her man. All, while having a 2 pound wig and triple D cups and using them as a tool.... And Gloria Steinman's not upset. I've died and gone to hell. I'll never, nor have I ever been able to use my breasts as a selling point. And Lord have mercy, but I'd sell both of my anthills before I'd ever beg another woman not to take a cheating man. What has this world come to? The truth is, ...
